Problem: The school had various areas throughout several buildings where the roof had leaked. Water staining and some mold was visible on ceiling. An estimate was done as to what we thought the damage was, but left the estimate very open ended in case the affected areas where found to be much larger than first attended.
Solution: Due to the age of the building, a full service asbestos test was done. Some of the areas tested came back positive for asbestos and an abatement company was called in to demo those specific areas. We set containment and air scrubbers. We removed the ceiling tiles and sheetrock from the ceilings. Once we started opening the drywall we found the damage was much more then initially thought. We then had to expand our containment to allow for the additional demo. We ended up removed the ceiling in 12 different areas.

In early May, the Eastside residence experienced significant water damage due to a plumbing failure. The homeowner initially sought assistance from a local maintenance service to mitigate the damage. The maintenance team, lacking specialized training in water damage restoration, deployed a few air movers and a dehumidifier, declaring the job complete after a few days. However, within weeks, the homeowner began noticing mold growth on the drywall, indicating that the moisture problem had not been adequately addressed. This oversight posed a significant risk to the home's structural integrity and the health of the family.
AdvantaClean of Eastside was then called in to address the escalating situation. Our team conducted a thorough inspection of the entire residence using advanced moisture meters to identify all affected materials. We established a containment zone, equipped with a HEPA filtration device, to control the environment and prevent the spread of mold spores during remediation. Non-salvageable materials were meticulously removed, revealing still-wet framing that required proper drying. Over several days, we applied industry-standard drying techniques, including daily moisture readings to ensure comprehensive drying. Following this, we executed mold removal procedures adhering to the highest industry standards, ensuring the residence was restored to a safe living condition. Our comprehensive approach not only resolved the immediate issues but also safeguarded the home against future mold infestations.

In early spring, a homeowner in the Eastside area discovered extensive mold growth in their attic, a result of prolonged water intrusion caused by roof failure. The initial water intrusion had allowed mold spores to thrive, particularly in the insulation and on the drywall beneath it. Recognizing the severity of the issue, the homeowner contacted AdvantaClean of Eastside for a comprehensive remediation solution. Our team promptly assessed the situation and determined that complete removal of the insulation was necessary. Any organic material that had fallen into the insulation and was exposed to moisture provided an ideal environment for mold growth. Additionally, the wet drywall under the insulation further exacerbated the problem.
Our remediation process began with the meticulous identification and removal of all affected materials. The attic was sealed off, and a HEPA air filtration device was deployed to capture airborne mold spores. We performed thorough HEPA vacuuming of all surfaces, followed by wire brush scrubbing and sanding to eliminate visible mold. A second round of HEPA vacuuming ensured all spores were captured. After the mechanical mold removal, we applied an antimicrobial agent and stain remover to further safeguard against future mold growth. Finally, the attic was re-insulated to code, restoring it to a safe and habitable condition.
