Problem: Dirty Dryer Vents Needing Cleaning
AdvantaClean of Rocky Mount requested to perform cleaning service for a commercial dryer vent. The dryer was completely cloudy/dirty from the extreme use of daily laundry which caused a clog dryer; which ultimately prevented proper drying and appropriate drying time.
Initial Visit: The initial inspection involved finding out exactly where the dryer was located, noting the size of the dryer, also noting any potential concerns that could pose a challenge on the actual day of the work. In addition, documenting which equipment(s) that would be required to perform the necessary work, as well as gather any other pertinent information and details about the job to ensure the actual job performance will go smoothly.
Solution: AdvantaClean of RM team arrived on site. Located the onsite Manager of the team’s arrival, then proceeded with getting the manager’s signature to begin work. The team began the process of unloading 2 Hepa-Vacuums Systems, Hoses that connects to the Air compressor, connectors, trash bag, tape and a few minor things along the way. The Hoses were sent to the roof to do a reverse spin to clear the dryer vent line towards the roof to prevent flow from going into the room. A second member was located on the inside for assurance that everything go as planned. Safety equipment such as PPE (Eye wear, Gloves, Suit, Mask) were used throughout the entire duration of completing the work
Both residential and commercial dryer vents are cleaned with a brush and a vacuum system that goes through the entire length of the vent. This snaking procedure ensures that all the lint is removed from the vent walls—reducing any build up!
During a dryer vent cleaning, AdvantaClean team will remove all traces of lint and dust buildup from your dryer and its vents. If lint is not properly removed, it can begin to hold moisture and increase the risk for an electrical fire. Not only will a professional dryer vent cleaning make a home or business a safer one, it is stated to help increase the energy efficiency of the machine, decrease drying time, and decrease energy usage.
In this case of one Commercial dryer located in the back of the facility in a storage room. The trunk like of the dryer exited to the roof of the building. The stairwell was located on the opposite end of the facility. The member downstairs unplugged the dryer. The member on the roof called the staff to reassure this step was completed. The dryer duct was made out of a hard-solid material (felt-like concrete) so therefore it was not removable. The next step was to clean any lint traps but filtering the lint towards the opening exit towards the duct line going with the flow of the suction. Lint traps should be cleaned after each use to prevent any blockage. This will keep down the potential cause of a fire.
Next, after all lint has been cleared out the trunk line. Use a Hepa- vacuum system to clean up any access lint that may have fallen outside of the dryer duct. Clean the interior (drum of the dryer, dryer moisture sensor) and exterior areas of the dryer. Replace any objects that were removed during the cleaning process. Plug up the dryer to test for normalcy. Pack up all material and get the worksheet signed by manager that the work was completed. Another successful job well done!

We worked over the weekend conducting crawlspace remediation by removing, bagged and disposed of fiberglass insulation. Advantaclean technicians put the crawlspace under negative air pressure by using a negative air machine and began remediation protocol. Once remediation was completed we install EZ flow drainage pipes around the interior perimeter connecting to a double combo sump pump that extend outside the crawlspace allowing water to drain from the house.
