Basement flooding cleanup project.

Problem: AdvantaClean was called to perform a free inspection. A water damage problem was experienced on the basement. Microbial growth started to develop on the ceiling and walls. An independent Mold Assessment company performed an inspection and collected samples, analyzed lab results, and developed a detailed scope of work. Solution: Our crew began with the work, following the scope of work provided by the mold assessment company, we began building plastic containment to isolate affected areas from the rest of the house. We HEPA Vacuum interior of walls and ceiling and wiped down with an anti-microbial solution all cavities. Our crew also encapsulated all remaining materials with an anti-microbial paint to protect remaining material from advanced microbial growth.

Mold Remediation

Faulty air conditioning unit and ground water leak from a neighbors lot resulted in gross contamination of this clients wine cellar. We were able to remediate the mold and save the WINE!

Problem: Home owner's basement had visible mold growing on their basement walls and floor caused by Hydrostatic pressure in the walls and floor.

Solution: AdvantaClean of the West Side performed a mold remediation of the basement; the entire space was HEPA vacuumed and disinfected with an EPA approved anti-microbial. We then filled all of the large cracks in the walls and floor with hydraulic cement. The floor and walls were treated with a wall and floor waterproofer. Lastly, the floor was painted with a mold resistant concrete paint.

Problem: Heavy rains hit the area which caused a sewage back up for a shopping complex. Sewage covered the back half of the store.

Solution: AdvantaClean of the West Side received the call and was on site within an hour to clean the sewage, remove the contaminated drywall and sanitize the building After cleaning was completed we left multiple air movers, a commercial dehumidifier and a HEPA filtered air scrubber on site for 3 days to ensure the space was dry and clean.

Problem: Homeowner called with concerns about a musty odor that was in their house they purchased a year ago. AdvantaClean of the West Side did air sampling and a thorough inspection of the property. We found the vapor barrier in the crawlspace had large holes in it which was allowing moist air to allow mold to grow on the floor joists of the crawl space. The ground under the ground was moist and creating the musty smell which was causing the smell and elevated mold spore levels in the living area directly above the crawlspace.

Solution: AdvantaClean of the West Side determined that the best way to address the issue was to do a complete encapsulation of the crawl space. We started by doing a complete mold remediation which included removing the existing vapor barrier and insulation. Once the mold was remediated we leveled the crawl space floor and installed drainage matting. We then installed 6-mil poly to the walls and 20-mil poly over the drainage matting. We sealed all of the crawlspace vents to ensure that no outside air could enter the space. Lastly, we installed a dehumidifier that will drain into the existing sump pump and replaced the insulation.

Problem: Homeowner had black mold growing on their 100 year old basement walls.

Solution: AdvantaClean removed the mold to the IICRC S520 standard for mold removal. We put the basement under negative pressure using a HEPA filtered air scrubber. We vacuumed the entire basement with a HEPA filtered vacuum. We then treated the entire basement with an EPA registered anti-microbial disinfectant. Lastly, we applied a mold resistant encapsulation to the walls to help prevent the return of the mold and to give this 100 year old house a new look.

Problem: All of the woodwork a recent home owners basement had a white film of mold on it. Some of the woodwork had a yellow mold growing as well. Homeowners experienced health problems as a result of breathing the contaminated air.

Problem: A recent home owner purchased a home and felt that the dust in his air ducts was causing some coughing that he did not have before moving in.

Solution: As can be seen in the photos there was a lot of dust in the home owners air ducts. AdvantaClean of the West Side cleaned the Air Ducts to NADCA (National Air Duct Cleaning Association) standards, leaving the duct work dust free!

Problem: A home owner had some work done to their HVAC system and a water leak happened as a result. The water went under a wall and soaked the carpet on the finished side of the basement. Approximately a week went by before they noticed the damage.

Solution: AdvantaClean of the West Side showed up immediately after being called. We were able to assess that the carpet was salvageable by being thoroughly dried. The carpet pad had to be removed as well as the effected tack strip which was showing signs of microbial growth. We then removed any remaining water and applied an approved anti-microbial to all of the effected building materials. Lastly, we dried the area with air movers and a dehumidifier. The area is clean, dry and mold free.

Problem: Homeowner had a leak in her washing machine while she was out of town. The water damage caused mold to grow on all of the walls in her utility room, attached bathroom and the shared wall of the garage.

Solution: AdvantaClean of the West Side removed all of the contaminated drywall, the contaminated vanity in the bathroom. We then HEPA vacuumed the entire space and treated the area with an anti-microbial solution.

Problem: Tenant at a commercial property was complaining about air quality issues in his office space. AdvantaClean of the West Side inspected the property and found mold growing 15 to 25 feet up the corner of the office above the drop ceiling.

Solution: AdvantaClean tested the mold and the results showed it to be toxigenic. We contained the area and had HEPA air scrubbers running. We removed all of the contaminated drywall. We HEPA vacuumed the entire containment area and treated it with an antimicrobial disinfectant. Lastly, we fogged the area with a mold control product and had HEPA air scrubbers running for 2 days afterward.
