Problem: A commercial property owner called AdvantaClean to inspect a rental property that had just become vacant. The property was formerly used as a dog grooming facility. We responded to the call the next day and found mold growing on the walls where the dogs were bathed. The unit also had a doggy smell. The owner wanted to restore the property to it's original state so they could rent it out again.
Solution: AdvantaClean cut out the drywall that contained mold so we could ensure there was not any mold growth behind it on the joists. We used an antimicrobial solution to clean the entire building to ensure the mold was remediated and the odor was eliminated. We finished with a air duct cleaning to ensure the air was clean. After a contractor repaired the missing drywall, the owner was able to rent the space again with confidence it was free of mold and odors.

Problem: Customer called and wanted AdvantaClean to perform a moisture inspection of their crawlspace. A pest inspector had informed them that they had some fungal growth on the floor joists of their crawlspace. AdvantaClean did a free inspection and confirmed there was some fungal growth. The cause? An improper installed vapor barrier.
Solution: AdvantaClean took care of the fungal growth by cleaning the floor joists with a three step process. The highly experienced technicians used a HEPA vacuum, cleaned the joists with an antimicrobial solution and then finished by HEPA vacuuming again. Then, they installed a 12 mil vapor barrier over the entire surface of the crawl space, then overlapped and tapped the vapor barrier. A proper vapor barrier will trap any moisture coming from the ground. A vapor barrier should be taped so it does not come displaced by any activities in the crawlspace in the future. The 12 mil plastic is reinforced and is very durable.

Problem: Customer called AdvantaClean and said she had a sensor that was going off on her clothes dryer notifying her that her dryer exhaust system was full of lint. She also said her dryer was taking longer than normal to dry her clothes.
Solution: AdvantaClean technicians arrived on time at the location and set up a push/pull system. A vacuum was attached to the exhaust outside pulling the lint out and forced air was used on the inside to push the lint towards the vacuum. This method also contains the lint and leaves virtually no mess. The duct line was cleaned in an hour and the dryer is now drying clothes faster, saving the customer time and money on her electric bill. Cleaning your dryer vent on a regular basis also prevents fires.

Problem: Retail Eyeglass Store had a sewage backup that was coming out of four floor drains. The backup was caused by a city waste line that was clogged. The sewage covered the entire 5000 square foot store and forced it to close its doors. The city worked through the night to clear the backed-up line.
Solution: We arrived on location at 6:00 PM on Friday and evaluated the damage in the store. The entire store had standing water and sewage on the carpet and hard surface areas. We immediately started the extraction process, removing the water and sewage from the affected areas. After extraction, we evaluated the floor coverings and started to remove carpet and other coverings. We also found that the moisture was affecting the drywall walls and cabinets. We removed the cabinets, base molding, and lower part of the drywall and wall surfaces to clean the affected areas. All demo and drying was completed in 5 days and store was ready for reconstruction.

Problem: Homeowner found a small amount of mold on his floor joists and discovered that his vapor barrier was torn and didn’t cover the entire crawlspace. He wanted a solution to remove the mold and to install a new vapor barrier.
Solution: AdvantaClean mold remediation & moisture control was performed. We did a complete remediation of the entire crawlspace and installed a full 12 Mil vapor barrier. The vapor barrier covered the ground and was attached to the perimeter of the walls 12 inches high. The space is now free of mold and excess moisture.

Problem: The owner of the office space started to notice a musty odor and see mold growth on an area rug, as well as on the hardwood floor beneath it. They also noticed some mold growth on a desk in the same area. The issue appeared to be coming from the concrete slab below.
Solution: AdvantaClean arrived and did a site evaluation. We found that there were elevated moisture levels in the building and occupants were experiencing symptoms. We recommended a certified Indoor Environmental Professional (IEP) be brought in for further testing and to write a protocol for the removal process. Once the IEP had completed testing and written the protocol AdvantaClean remediated the entire office area, including removal of a portion of the hardwood floor, in accordance with the protocol. The HVAC system was also cleaned to the NADCA standard. The project passed the IEP’s clearance on the first attempt. The area was put back by a contractor and the staff was back working in their offices in no time.

Problem: Attic mold was caused by a roof leak. Homeowner found mold in attic after having several leaks in the roof. Mold was on the insulation and all the wood members of the roof system.
Solution: AdvantaClean performed the attic remediation. The remediation was a difficult one with the access hole only being 24”x24” and to make it tougher there was a Hot Water Heater under the opening. We contained the attic and cleaned all affected areas. Our crew used safety boards due to the 24” spacing of the ceiling joists. After several days of cleaning it was mold free and ready for new insulation to be installed.

Problem: Owner bought home 5 years ago, and noticed some mold in the crawlspace. After inspection AdvantaClean discovered several issues. There was mold growth on the wood in the crawlspace and he also had several different moisture issues. Improper grading outside the home was allowing water to backup and flood into the crawlspace. There was a dryer vent line that ran through the crawlspace. The line was falling apart and not sealed which was allowing hot, damp air to leak into the crawlspace. This created the perfect habitat for mold growth under the home.
Solution: AdvantaClean recommended a landscaper to do some grading outside to solve the bulk water issue. As for the issues inside, we did a full remediation of the entire crawlspace, followed by installation of a full AdvantaSeal crawlspace encapsulation and finally a dehumidifier to control the humidity. This allows the homeowner a peace of mind that the problem will not come back. We also cleaned, replaced, and sealed his dryer vent line and attached a new cover outside ensuring that the humid air is sent outside where it belongs.
