The presence of moisture is the biggest cause for concern for building owners. It can be a major source of many other types of problems such as wood rotting, mold and mildew growth, deterioration of air quality and weakening of the structural safety of a building. Dampness and mold growth may happen in basements or crawl spaces, or they can be hidden inside walls. Moisture becomes a problem when the proportion of water molecules in air becomes more than needed. When excess air comes in contact with the different parts of a building, it is gradually absorbed by the material of the building. This causes excess dampness on walls or floors and it provides a conducive atmosphere for the growth of molds and termites.
