Monument, CO Case Studies
Monument Colorado Water Damage Mitigation from a Toilet Overflow in the Master Bathroom
Problem: Toilet overflowed with contaminated water for over 8 hours in master bedroom. Water migrated from main level to master bedroom, family room, entry way and office. The water also migrated down towards the finished basement affecting the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and recreation room. The water was considered heavily contaminated. Walls and floors were saturated on main floor affecting hardwood, carpet and drywall. The basement ceiling, walls and flooring were all affected.
Solution: Dry out the moisture in the affected areas using dehumidifiers and fans. Build containment for affected areas due to the moisture contamination and insert a HEPA air scrubber to filter the air. An asbestos test was performed on all surface material requiring demolition per Colorado State law. Demolition of all surface material affected by the moisture was scheduled after the asbestos testing came back negative. Demolition was necessary due to the biological contaminants. Main floor demolition included hardwood floors, carpet and padding, cabinetry, 2 foot flood cut drywall and trim. The basement demolition included gutting the bathroom, ceiling and affected walls in other rooms and flooring. Clean and wipe down all affected areas after demolition.
Water Damage Mitigation from a Roof Leak in Monument CO
Problem: A roof leak that had been going on for months had caused contaminated moisture to saturate the ceiling, walls and hardwood flooring of this Monument Colorado property. Mold was visible on surface material in some areas, but was prevalent in wall cavities. The hardwood flooring had cupped. The walls and ceiling had signs of significant water damage. The affected areas included, entry way, living room, dining room, hallway and closet.
Solution: Dry out affected areas using multiple dehumidifiers and fans. Containment was built and HEPA air scrubber was inserted. An asbestos test was performed on all surface materials requiring demolition per Colorado State law. Demolition of all surface material affected by the moisture was scheduled after the asbestos testing came back negative. Demolition was necessary due to the length of time the areas were wet, which created an ideal environment for biological contaminants to grow. All hardwood was removed, entire ceiling, and affected walls. Clean and wipe down all affected areas after demolition.
