Colorado Springs Water Damage Restoration from Pipe Burst in Basement Bedroom

Location: 80918

Customer: Huyen

Problem: Pipe burst in wall going to outside faucet attached to home.  Residents did not notice for a week or two.  Water flooded most of the rooms in the basement affecting exterior walls, interior walls and flooring.  There was a musty odor indicating potential microbial / mold growth.  Rooms affected were 2 bedrooms, recreation room, walk-in closet, hallway closet and hallway.  The moisture is considered contaminated.

Solution: Dry out affected areas using multiple dehumidifiers and fans. Containment was built and HEPA air scrubber was inserted. An asbestos test was performed on all surface materials requiring demolition per Colorado State law. Demolition of all surface material affected by the moisture was scheduled after the asbestos testing came back negative. Demolition was necessary due to the length of time the areas were wet, which created an ideal environment for biological contaminants to grow.  Affected drywall (2 foot flood cuts) and all flooring were removed. Clean and wipe down all affected areas after demolition.
