Mold in garage due to a cold air vent
Problem: Hannah developed mold in her garage. The mold developed due to a cold air vent inside the wall of the garage. Since the garage is unconditioned, the humidity is high and will condensate upon contacting a cold surface.
Solution: The area was treated with MMR to remove staining and then Oxypar to kill the mold.
Condo flooded due to neighbors water leak
Problem: Christina's neighbor had a leak that flowed over into her condo. The water set for some time and black mold developed between the baseboard and sheetrock. Christina could smell the mold and her son's allergies flared up.
Solution: A barrier system was built, negative pressure and HEPA filtration was used to limit the contamination and prevent the spread of mold spores. The affected sheetrock was removed and the remaining wall studs were HEPA vacuumed and treated with Oxypar. After the mold treatment we dried out the structure.
Damage Due to Bad Valve in Laundry Room
Problem: Barbara had a plumbing leak. She realized she had a leak because her tile flooring started to change color.
Solution: Moisture readings were taken; the drywall, under the laundry room pluming connection, was completely saturated. We recommended a plumber, after he finished his work, we removed all of the affected drywall and baseboards. The tile was able to be saved and restored using a dehumidifier. This job took us four hours and the drying process three days, due to the tile discoloration.
