Beach BummerSeptember 16, 2011 0 Comments
If your plans for this weekend include beach locations, you may want to reconsider. Beaches along the East Coast can expect chilly temperatures and storms beginning today and lasting through next Friday.
Virginia Beach, VA; Outerbanks, NC; Wrightsville Beach, NC; and Myrtle Beach, NC are expected to receive up to an inch of rain over the weekend, along with winds of 20 – 35 mph.
Tropical Storm Maria strengthened to a hurricane yesterday afternoon and is headed towards Newfoundland. Even though Maria is not forecast to hit the East Coast, high surf and rip currents should be expected for the rest of the week.
When preparing for a storm, review your homeowners insurance policy so you understand your deductibles and the amount of coverage that is currently in place.
